13 acres of river frontage…
Owner/Broker – BRE# 01046373
moved to Garberville from his birth place London, Ontario Canada as a newly married young man in 1977. At that time it was his dream to build a homestead in the mountains of Humboldt County. Brian and his wife, Robin bought a 20 acre parcel and proceeded to build their home, plant an orchard, start an organic garden and have a family. During this time he also became involved with the newly forming Mateel Community Center and helped build the center.
Other interests included canoeing / kayaking in the local rivers, boogie boarding at Shelter Cove, hiking, mountain biking, foreign travel and music. When the community center started Reggae on the River, Brian became involved in the production of this annual event. Brian also has been a long time veteran of the local radio airwaves as a programmer on the now defunct KERG and a founding member / programmer on our community funded station KMUD.
Brian built homes, drove trucks, did landscape work and worked at Open Circle Trading Company (the forerunner of Real Goods) previous to getting his Real Estate License in 1989 and coming to work at Madrone Realty. Brian has worked full time at Madrone since getting his license and enjoys helping people find their dream properties.
Brian is a member of many local community organizations including Garberville Rotary, KMUD – Redwood Community Radio, Northern California Community Blood Bank, Redwood Rural Health Center, The Garberville Grange, The Backwoods Jazz Association and the Mateel Community Center. He has been a member and director of many local boards in the area. Brian continues to give back to the wonderful area that he and his family (Robin, Forest and Somer) call home.
